CUBA
Ministry in Cuba has been a field ripe for the harvest since we launched in 2000. It was suggested to us that if we were to take our Train and Deploy model, from Spain to Cuba, that the work would likely flourish. The prediction ended up being an understatement.
No sooner had we launched with a few dozen pastors, than we were seeing scores of churches beginning to be planted. Hundreds of people were coming to Christ and we soon began to spread the work all throughout the island.

CHURCHES PLANTED
Today more than 700 church planters are at work throughout the island with each planting at least 3 churches. There are more than 6500 churches being overseen throughout the island and each month thousands of people accept Christ.
Though many are coming to Christ, the need of the hour for ministry in Cuba is discipleship. We are working and developing our church planters to not only lead people to Christ but to disciple new believers to the end that these will multiply disciples.
STORIES FROM THE FIELD
Luis grew up knowing that he was an unwanted child. Raised by his grandmother after his mother’s tragic death, he found himself adrift in a world of despair. At a very young age, his father and grandmother introduced him to the occult religion of Santeria, where he was initiated as a priest in dark rituals.
Throughout his childhood and adolescence, he battled with suicidal thoughts, feeling hopeless and lost. There were moments when he stood on the brink of ending his own life, only to be stopped by what he can only describe as divine intervention.
A glimmer of hope emerged when his aunt found faith in Jesus Christ. Through her prayers and persistence, Luis surrendered his life to Christ. At the age of 16, he began to understand that God had a purpose for him, a purpose far greater than the darkness that once consumed him. Luis answered a call to the ministry and joined WLM as a church planter and discipling others. Over the years, God has sustained and blessed his ministry, enabling him to lead others to true salvation found in Jesus.
