In just the last 24 months, nearly 1,000 churches have been launched in Venezuela. Every day in Asia, hundreds of children are fed and taught the Bible. In just 5 months since our launch of a new field, over 52,988 people have heard the Gospel, with church plants rapidly spreading across the provinces.
People who once only dreamed of being able to give themselves to be ministers of the Gospel are now actively serving their communities. Broken families have found healing and are thriving in new church communities. Once facing a future without hope, children now aspire to become educated and equipped in professions that will enable them to provide for their families.
Luis' Story
Lost, Hopeless, and Unwanted…
Luis was born into poverty in Cuba, unwanted and nearly aborted. After his mother’s tragic death and his father’s struggle with alcoholism, his grandmother took him in but introduced him to Santería, a cult rooted in black magic and suffering. By 11, Luis was being trained as a priest in the occult. Lost and hopeless, he attempted suicide but survived, taking it as a sign that his life had a purpose.
When Jesus Changes Everything…
Everything changed when his aunt invited him to church. That Sunday, surrounded by love and joy, Luis gave his life to Christ. He soon began helping with worship and was invited to join a small church plant in a nearby village. There, Luis lived in the closet of a shack-turned-church, leading services for 50 people each week.
Advancing the Gospel…
When we met Luis, we brought him into our program, where he studied the Bible, theology, and Christian leadership. Equipped with new knowledge and support, he quickly multiplied his efforts. What began as one small church grew to 15 church plants, with six more now in development.
