Miracles are unfolding every day in the places most in need of God’s provision, peace, and power. World Link partners are planting seeds of faith in the lives of dedicated church planters around the world, who are witnessing hearts open to the Gospel as these seeds take root and flourish. These local leaders, deeply connected to the heart of their community—their struggles and triumphs—are culturally aware and fully funded by WLM, making them a catalyst for Gospel saturation in their region.
One such church planter was Pavel in Ukraine.
Pavel is a local pastor in Brianka, Ukraine, who was inspired and equipped by World Link Ministries and saw an opportunity to plant another church in a nearby town. With limited resources, he realized he could make this dream a reality if only he could get rid of his church’s monthly water bill. That amount of money would be enough to cover the costs of a new church plant. Together with a friend, a creative solution took shape: could they dig a well on the church property, thus no longer needing to pay for water, and launch the new church?
Pavel and his friend began sharing their dream with anyone who would listen, but no one offered to help. “The town has plenty of water,” people said. “Why dig a well?” Eventually, they realized that they would have had the money they needed if they had just dug the well themselves. So, that’s exactly what they did—they started digging a hole in the courtyard of their church. And to their surprise, they struck water! Before long, they had a functioning well!
Several months later, Russia began bombing the Luhansk region where they were located. The first bombs to fall in Brianka destroyed the town’s water system. By God’s grace, Pavel’s church was untouched and their well became a source of water provision for the entire area. The congregation quickly pivoted and set up a coffee shop and a water supply depot for residents. Day after day, as the uncertainty of war unfolded, these faithful believers ministered to their neighbors, provided life-giving water, and offered support in the name of Jesus.
Tragically, Russia invaded their village, and Pavel and his family were forced to flee. Although displaced and struggling to survive in a new city, he felt God calling him to love and support fellow refugees and went on to plant several churches among those from the war-torn east of Ukraine.
World Link exists to train, equip, and fund committed church planters like Pavel. When local leaders are empowered to transform their communities from the inside out, the seeds of the Gospel are planted, and the kingdom advances. Discipleship doesn’t have to be expensive programs, big infrastructure, or a flashy website. Discipleship is loving people one by one. It’s coming alongside people in their trouble and bringing the hope and light of the Gospel with our words and actions.
You can join World Link Ministries as we train and deploy local leaders who are saturating their regions with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A special spring gift of $60, $120, $250, or $500 can have a transformational impact on the 1700 church planters we support worldwide and the communities they serve, who are in need of the hope of the Gospel.
Together, we can reflect God’s life-changing love to a lost world and see the seeds of faith sown by your generosity take root and bear fruit.
